Production on Fast and Furious 7 has shut down indefinitely in the wake of Paul Walker's death.
Walker and the rest of the cast had already started shooting the movie in Atlanta this fall. Now the status of the project is in doubt. In a statement released today (Wednesday), Universal says it will "assess all options available to move forward with the franchise."
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County Coroner has announced that Walker died from “traumatic and thermal injuries.” His friend Roger Rodas, who crashed the Porsche into a light pole on Saturday, died on impact, and the fire did not contribute to his death, according to the report. Their deaths have been ruled an accident, though investigators are looking into what caused it.

The fiery crash that killed Fast and Furious star Paul Walker may have a link to the film franchise after all.
According to TMZ, police are investigating whether the actor and his friend Roger Rodas -- the former racecar driver who was behind the wheel when the crash occurred -- were in the middle of a high-speed race on Saturday afternoon.
It was suspected that a malfunction caused the crash, but a law enforcement source tells TMZ that they received a tip about a possible race. Now cops are reportedly looking for video and witnesses that could prove another car was involved. Sources say the Santa Clarita, California street where the crash happened is a popular street racing location.
However, newly obtained surveillance video on TMZ seems to show that no cars were right near Rodas's Porsche at the time of impact -- which may rule out the theory of a street race.

The driver of the Porsche has been identified as Roger Rodas, a friend of Paul's who owned a sport car dealership. The two were returning to a fund-raiser for typhoon relief that they organized in Santa Clarita, California when Roger reportedly lost control of the car and it crashed.
According to TMZ, Paul and Roger's body were burned so badly in the explosion that the coroner needed their dental records to identify the men. As a result, their autopsies will be delayed until later this week.
The future of Fast and Furious 7 is also in doubt. Paul was set to film key scenes in the upcoming movie this week. But according to The Hollywood Reporter the film "won't be scrapped," only delayed. The main stars are said to be too distraught to work anyway.
Meanwhile, there has been a huge outpouring from Paul's co-stars on social media.
