BEYONCE: PETA's Peeved
Most people were blown away by Beyonce's performance at the Super Bowl on Sunday, but not the folks at PETA, who have bashed her for the animal-skin outfit she wore.
Bey's suit consisted of leather, python and iguana skin, none of which made the PETA peeps happy. They issued a statement saying, “We would take a bet that if Beyoncé watched our video exposés, she'd probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits or other animals who died painfully. Today’s fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyoncé’s Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score.”
The animal rights group does have some love for Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, who's joined forces with them for their "Ink Not Mink" anti-fur campaign.
BUNKER BOY: Safe, Kidnapper Killed After Six Day Ordeal
The five-year-old boy who was taken for an Alabama school bus six days ago is safe and has been taken to a hospital and his kidnapper has been killed, according to law enforcement officials.
FBI agents stormed the bunker where Jimmy Lee Dykes was holding the boy, but have not released details of the mission that freed the boy. Byron Martin, who owns a home in Midland, Alabama near the bunker where the boy was held, said, "I heard a big boom and then…I believe I heard rifle shots."
A pair of ambulances were spotted leaving the scene shortly before 4 p.m. local time.
It was last Tuesday when Dykes allegedly boarded a Dale County school bus and told the driver he was taking two children. When the driver, Charles Albert Poland Jr., tried to stop him, Poland was shot and killed. Although at least 21 children escaped from the bus's emergency back exit, police say Dykes took the five-year-old boy and then he holed up with the child inside a bunker he had built.
