Kate Upton and high school senior Jake Davidson had a date Wednesday morning...on the phone.
Jake hooked up with the Sports Illustrated model while appearing on the Today show to talk about his viral video.
Kate told the 17-year-old she "absolutely love the video" in which he asks her to the prom. "It was so hilarious and so creative. Thank you so much for doing that, I really appreciate it."
Jake again invited Kate to the May 23rd prom, saying, "I'm telling you it will be a great night, great evening –- I could even get the curfew extended hopefully by my parents maybe. We could go to a great dinner before. I hope you'd be interested if your schedule is free, and what time should I pick you up if you are interested?"
The night before Kate had tweeted a reply to Jake's prom invitation, saying, "How could I turn down that video! I'll check my schedule."
But she still wasn't ready to give him a definitive answer on the Today show. "I definitely have to check my schedule," she said, "but you seem like so much fun and if everything works out, I'd love to go with you. I know we'd have a blast."

Motherhood really has softened Pink -- who stopped a show in her hometown of Philadelphia on Sunday night to comfort a little girl who was crying in a seat not far from the stage.
She'd just started an acoustic version of "Who Knew?" when she signaled her guitarist to stop and asked, "Is everything OK right here? Is this little girl all right? What's going on? Why is she crying? Why is she upset?"
When told the reason for the girl's tears, Pink said, "[She's crying] because there was a fight? You all are fighting around a little girl? C'mon... All right, all right, I know, everyone's about to fight. I know, I'm from here."
After failing to coax the shy child onstage for a hug, Pink instead passed her a Rice Krispie treat and a stuffed frog that a fan had tossed onstage, telling her, "Don't cry... There's plenty of time to cry when you're older."
