Maroon 5's Adam Levine was honored at Tuesday's 61st annual BMI Pop Awards in Beverly Hills. He received the President's Award and was recognized for co-writing the Song of the Year, for "Moves Like Jagger." Levine shared that award with co-writers Benny Blanco and Ammar Malik.
With four songs each in the performance rights organization's 50 most performed songs of 2012, Blanco and Malik -- who also co-wrote Maroon 5's "Payphone" and Gym Class Heroes' "Ass Back Home" and "Stereo Hearts" -- shared the BMI Pop Songwriter of the Year title with writer-producer Claude Kelly. Kelly penned Jessie J's "Domino" and "Price Tag," Karmin's "Brokenhearted" and Pitbull's "International Love."
Levine received musical tributes from soul singer Allen Stone and the first signing to his 222 Records label, Rozzi Crane. Stone sang "Won't Go Home Without You," Crane delivered "She Will Be Loved" and the two duetted on "Sunday Morning."
