As I get a bit older ( ugh!) my sweet tooth is starting to fade....but when it does come around, its wanting something a step up from the ordinary.
I figure that's gotta happen to you too, right?
So this week, I am just going to bring you a few sweet treat ideas that you can tackle!!
First up, these made me wish I could eat the computer screen! Salted brown butter cookie dough truffles. ( I bet it took me longer to type out the name then they would last around me! ) This comes courtesy of CookingClassy.com
See?? Amazing huh???
Have Nutella in the cupboard? Check out this Nutella Dip, also from Cookingclassy.com!
Sure, dip in strawberrys, graham crackers, pound cake, bananas, a spoon to just eat!!!
And for those who don't enjoy chocolate (????), here is a light and fluffy Banana Cake with whipped frosting. ( Ok,that does sound good...even better with chocolate syrup in the side!!!) And yep...raided CookingClassy.com again for this! ( but you can see why!)
Ok, I am going to go and wipe the drool from my face and perhaps even attempt one of these evil creations this weekend too!!
Hopefully your Moms Day will go better then mine!! Already my 9 year old has told me to " make this exact breakfast for her on Mothers Day...she will be soooo Happy!" Yeah, guess she hasn't quite got the idea yet!!
But should I in fact end up in the kitchen this weekend, perhaps these will be a few things I cook up. ( or, should the hubby wisely read this....HE could cook up! )
With some fresh fruit and coffee....Yum!!
Lunch...something light and can be eaten outside on the patio!! How about this Italian Antipasta Salad?? Again, from Skinnytaste.com!
That and a glass of wine on the Patio...perfect Moms Day!!
And then this looked great! Linguini with Scallops and Peas! Again....say it with me...Skinnytaste.com!
Looks good huh? Well, if you are lucky enough to have someone cook these for you...Enjoy!! And have a wonderful Mothers Day!!!
So honestly, one of my Favorites of all foods is mexican!! Not the super spicey hot you-sweat-and-eat stuff...but the good meat, cheesey, tomato-ey goodness! And since this Sunday is Cinco De Mayo...well...its pretty clear what to cook this weekend!!
I was thinking about Tacos...but a bit lighter? Ok, its what I found on Skinnytaste.com...Taco Lettuce wraps!
There is a good reason for the "lite-ness"....like this!
Frozen margaritas!!! I found some super easy ones on All recipes.com
Then for something fun...creamy...and good too?
How about this?
I remember getting Fried Ice Cream at a restaurant when I was little...THIS has to be good too! Ok, a bit healthier too!
Found on Skinnytaste.com, its her "unfried" Ice Cream!
See? YUM! Enjoy your Cinco De Mayo this weekend!
You know how sometimes you just get that urge to cook?? Ok, me neither. But I do get the urge to eat...so...I guess thats fairly close to cooking!
Found some fun recipes that would be fun to try out this weekend for eating...cooking....you get the idea!
I was browsing the site Kaylns Kitchen and found these yummy looking and sounding Blueberry Muffins with whole wheat and oatmeal too! Perfect for a weekend breakfast...or snack!
With a cup or two of coffee...perfect!
Then I can see the weekend taking on this one! Some weekend days are just made for snacking...and beveraging too! This would be great for that! A Shrimp coctail with a low sugar cocktail sauce!
Perfect for talking and noshing!
Then maybe starting up the grill and letting the hubby cook? Yep! Perfect with these Marinated Beef Kabobs that I found!
So there are some ideas for a weekend of eating... or cooking too!
Its going to be a busy weekend around my house! What with the race on Sunday to be a part of...so I am looking for mostly easy stuff to cook this weekend!
So of course I head to the site Skinnytaste.com because I want good food, healthy food...and yes, still easy food too!
If you are like me, you have seen the TV commericals about a breakfast restaurant promoting their special pancakes? They look soooooooo good and yet, I am more then sure I'd have to eat air the rest of the day! with this recipe I found on Skinnytaste I don't think we will! Check out the Banana Nut Pancakes!!
This looks amazing. Of course its hard to go wrong with pasta and cheese...But I think I should try this Skinny Baked Broccoli Mac and Cheese!
I think I could just stop there.
But then again, these Buffalo Turkey burgers with Blue Cheese Slaw look pretty decent...Ok, pretty good!
Told ya it looked Good!!
Hope you get some time in the kitchen this weekend too!
I will tell you right now, that this week..my home cooking...has been more not from my home cooking! More like take out and what can I make from this box! Sooo, I really should hit the kitchen this weekend! Want to join me??
We are having family over this weekend so I am thinking something easy and good for Breakfast...a breakfast casserole! I admit, these babies are my go to for breakfast for more then my crew!
This one is from Kaylns Kitchen, her Breakfast Cassarole with Itailan Sausage, mushrooms and cheese. You can't go wrong with that combination...like ever!
I saw this posted at Kayln's Kitchen and thought it looked pretty good, plus I happen to have an avocado sitting on my counter looking at me like I really should do something with it, so its life isn't wasted!
So this Lentil Taco Salad just might find its way to my home!
See? A good home for the lonely avocado!!
And as I am hoping that dinner is .... out...somewhere that can do the dishes for all of us!!..Here is an idea for dessert!
Low sugar raspberry cheesecake with pecan crust! Ok, That could even be dinner!!
Yeah...that could totally be dinner!
Hope you have fun in the kitchen this weekend too!
Time to start thinking Spring and food. Ok, I am always thinking food!! But hey, at least I share!
To start the day, you are probably a bit over the egg thing huh? I know I had more hard boiled eggs the past week, then I have had all year!
So instead, how about this tropical papaya smoothie?
Nice and light and good for you too!!
Just looks fresh!!
You have had enough of Ham by now...so how about some Turkey? And this one doesn't require you to watch the oven all day, its from the crock pot! Crock Pot Turkey!
So easy and good! And there would leftovers too!
For your lunch on Monday!
Eater, Easter...its pretty close! And altho the holiday has a bigger meaning then just food...this blog is gonna talk about the FOOD!
Normally I do the recipes in order...but not today! Why, cuz these just look GOod!
Hey, Coconut is a fruit...and fruit is good for breakfast, so...you could have them with some coffee!!
And then when I saw these, well...two things I love...Green beans and Bacon...and they are together in this dish!
See? Pretty and yummy too!
And I guess we really should have something hearty ( to counteract against the mountains of chocolate candy that I believe too goes with said Holiday!) Check out this!
A braised briskett with veggies too! This looks good...and honestly, easy! Not a lot of hands on because my hands will be filled with Easter Basket fun and candy too!!
Hope you have a wonderful Easter too!
Since a few people will be spending the weekend in front of the TV watching college basketball this weekend, lets find some fun, easy to make recipes for it!
This one comes from Kalyns Kitchen and is a nice easy Breakfast....Tuscan Bakes Eggs withTomatos and Parm!!
Look good! I love tomatos and cheese with just about anything!!
Since a lot of people are watching the games on tv, how about some pizza? healthy pizza even! Before you wrinkle your nose, check out this picture!
Looks good huh? Its from Kalyns kitchen too, its her take on Flat Bread Pizza! I am thinking you could even add some greens to it...green pepper or spinach!
And finally...Dinner! For some reason, this whole week I have struggled with ideas for dinner. But I think that this is good for this weekend! Who doesn't love pasta, sausage and a bit of spice for a good kick too?
Its Penne with Spicy sausage, mushrooms and spinach! Add in some crusty bread and you are good for the night!
So have some fun cookin up these ideas this weekend...and I hope all your teams win! ( cuz my brackets are already busted!)
