So I spend a good part of the day cruising around on line..finding funny stories and stuff like that. And this morning...this totally caught my eye. Maybe I am hungry this morning, but seriously, I think this idea could be good....like REALLY good!
A burger place in Philly has come up with the idea of a bacon-taco shell. Yep. Yum. And then inside it they but taco flavored beef and other usual taco stuff.
No heres the thing. I was recently told by the doctor that I need to steer away from wheat and corn. Great. There goes like most of what I eat!! But looking around, when someone takes out wheat....corn is what is substituted. And I can't do that either. So really....a bacon shell...is perfect!
And I would have to think that all the people going low carb....Atkins, South beach....would also have to see the beauty that this dish truly is.
I am actually thinking of trying to make it myself...just to see.
So if I end up with food poisening soon...well. We'll just skip that!
Here is the story that I saw:
If you think about it, the taco really is the most perfect food. It is a pocket of corn (or, if you’re a heathen, flour) filled with whatever your belly desires. And it fits in one hand. How can you possibly improve on that formula? Why, with bacon, of course. Specifically, a shell made of bacon. No, really, a shell made of bacon, which the forward-thinking proprietors of Philadelphia burger joint PYT have done with their limited-time-only "Bacon-Shell Burger Taco," — a shell made entirely of bacon stuffed with "a taco-seasoned beef burger," two kinds of shredded cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo and an "avocado and cilantro ranch sauce."
