On your wedding?  According to a new study, the average ( note AVERAGE) wedding now costs around $28 thousand dollars.  For one day....for just one part of a day...for one part of one day that honestly goes by soooooo fast that you hardly recall all of it later.

True, I didn't spend that much on mine ( ok, mom and dad didn't spend that much!) and frankly, even if they could have....why??? Its one day.  Yes, it is a celebration!  It is a special day!  Yes you do want your friends and family there with you for the day....but I also think that it does get out of hand.  My wedding was simple, ceremony and reception at the same place ( one of those wedding factory type places) but it still worked.  I still had fun....felt like a princess....and we were married!

Have I been lucky enough to attend a wedding that definately cost more around the new "average"....yes I have. It was amazing and incredible to attend...like being in a movie.  Did it change the couples married life? Nope.  They are still together and happy.  Just like other couples too.

I have also been on weddings that were put together with a small budget, and really, those have been just as memorable.

I don't really think its the amount of money spent on the wedding, its about two people coming together in front of friends and family to celebrate starting  a life together.  The wedding itself is just one day...the first day...of the rest of your lives together.

Doesn't matter to me if its a fancy day...or just a great day!
