Funny how we are all getting more connected and closer together huh. I mean the events yesterday in Boston...hit home here.
There were about 47 people from this area running in that marathon yesterday, which gives us a bit of a connection true...but more then that....it was a horrible attack on innocent people by some super jerk. It was wrong and it made us all feel anger and frustration and saddness too at the loss of life and limb.
I really hope that they catch the super jerk that planted the bombs. I want to know why and then I want him...well...lets just say I am not feeling like he should be innocent until proven guilty....just be guilty.
But it is impressive how the whole nation will come together at something like this. It no longer matters that we are miles and miles away...we feel for them. And too, the stories of the heros that were there and helping out....without even thinking about dangers for them...only thinking of helping those who were hurt.
He was called the Guy in the Hat yesterday by one news outlet. He was there to watch and support a group of marines running...he had lost his son in Iraq...and to support a group that supports those dealing with suicides too that were running....as he lost his other son to that. The man was red cross trained and didn't think twice about jumping into the fray and helping the injured people around him. All just to help out in the face of tragedy.
And I am sure you saw the video of the first blast where a runner fell down from it....that runner is a 76 year old man....from Washington state. And he was able to get up, finish the race and then go an additional 1/2 mile to his hotel to let his family know he was ok.
So much tragedy...and senseless hurt....but its nice to see some glimmer of human good to come from it.
It just ways heavy on ones mind.....
