Remember the total frenzy over the stoppage of making Twinkies? People were buying cases of them...selling them on Ebay and such. Then we all found out that they had been rescued and were returning this summer!
** Side note...why didn't anyone bother to rescue the HoHos and DingDongs?? THOSE I can see getting all crazed about....much more so then the twinkies...and yet sadly....I am dingdong less. Sigh. **
Well...they are coming back! With a twist!
No, not flavor or a change to the mystery filling that only gets melty and gooey when you deep fry it. I am talking about...prolonging the shelf life!
Now they don't really last a billion years...and they might still survive a nuclear attack, but you would still have to heed the expiration date - which by the way, is a shelf life of 45 days.
Chemicals you ask? Nope. Good ol freezing! You know, like when you buy meat and it says use or freeze by? Same deal. ONly this time its cakey goodness. Grocers can freeze them or buy them fresh. Probably won't really effect the taste, but for the purests...its a change.
Will it affect you?
